Fantastic experience: I reached out to ASG to look for a long lost family member and spoke to Dan when I called. Within a couple of hours he had information about the person I was searching for. While the search did not end up the way I had hoped (through no fault of Dan's) I was blown away by his kindness, willingness to help, and quick turnaround time. I looked at a ton of companies prior to choosing ASG and was very skeptical of what this process would entail as well as nervous about scams. I could not be happier with their service and would highly recommend ASG.

Fantastic experience: I recently contracted with ASG Investigations to pursue a personal matter that I was having difficulty resolving on my own. I think my case may have been a bit unusual, as I was trying to locate a boyhood friend, and any information I had was at least 50 years old. Michael Schesnuk was assigned to my case. Having never hired an investigator before I was understandably apprehensive. Mr. Schesnuk's professionalism was immediately apparent. My calls were returned in a timely manner, the investigative process was carefully explained, the work was done in a reasonable time frame, the cost was within reason, and the result was better than anything I could have accomplished without without their help. In addition, Mr. Schesnuk was willing to devote considerable time and effort beyond the expected scope of services, including establishing contact with those I was hoping to meet in such a way that when I reached out to them, they were receptive. I consider it a job well done, and I have no regrets in hiring ASG investigations.

Fantastic experience: I called ASG in regards to obtaining some background information for renting a new apartment. Dan was very helpful and knowledgeable in regards to the process needed to solve my issue. I have spoken to a few other companies and was most comfortable with ASG.

Negative experience: My wife and I contracted ASG to perform a background check for the purpose of applying to the Utah State Bar. We discussed the requirements for the Bar application and ASG confirmed they would pull all documents necessary for it. In short, the product was incomplete with several obvious incidents not discovered, critical portions of it were untimely, and because ASG felt their product conformed to the letter of our contract--although certainly not the spirit, as the main investigator we interacted with more or less confirmed--no refund or meaningful corrective action was forthcoming. Furthermore, after reviewing the Agreement and associated communications regarding the services we were seeking, we do not agree that ASG fulfilled their contractual obligations. Reconsider contracting ASG to perform this service, at least in a jurisdiction they are not already familiar with.

Negative experience: I hired ASG to help gather material for the bar application, because I had a baby due in the middle of the month and I knew it would be difficult for me to gather the required materials. ASG was informed of the application's due date, and I specified a record I wanted looked into. They did not attend to seeking this information promptly, and now I am either not going to be able complete my application, or at the very least be stuck paying a $100-$300 late fee. On top of that I ended up having to do all the leg work myself with a new baby. I should have just done everything on my own, this service provided me absolutely no value. In reply to ASG's response, our communication with ASG specified that "[t]his will include (but is not limited to) circuit court searches (both civil and criminal records) throughout your lifetime, lifetime district court searches where available, federal court and bankruptcy search, any liens or other civil judgments that may come up through non-public databases, and Freedom of Information act requests sent to local, county, or state level law enforcement for information on contact made with police." The Agreement specified that "Law enforcement canvass at local/county or state level." In light of our communications, I believed this would entail the FOIA, or in Utah, GRAMA, requests specified. The record I was specifically missing was an GRAMA request for a police report, and the request was not made by ASG until the day bar applications were due and only after we asked them to do so. So ASG's claim to do extra work above and beyond for free is misleading if not totally false. Also, there were two separate background checks and two separate clients in this matter, although we shared an Agreement. Both of us have a customer experience to share in these reviews. Additionally, there was no take it or leave it 100% refund request made. But because ASG's incompetence will cost us money, it seemed reasonable to request some level of refund.

Fantastic experience: Really extraordinary service. Within a day of contacting Dan Klimek, he went to work investigating our issue, maintained both full transparency with regard to what we should expect and constant communication, and then proceeded to complete the job very quickly and competently. At the end, no detail was missed because this company thoroughly follows all leads and leaves no stone unturned. Our law firm is very pleased with the professional nature of our dealings with ASG, not to mention the very reasonable costs associated with the considerably complex nature of the job we needed to complete. We will definitely call upon and trust Dan Klimek and his team for any future investigative needs.
