Negative experience: On February 3, 2023 I met with Omni Investigation Inc. owner Ami K. Schoenfeld about performing a private investigation criminal defense case for false charges from my neighbors. Ami estimated the total amount for the case of $5,000 and requested payment of a $5,000 retainer to take the case so I paid her the retainer and she issued me a paid receipt # 382673 for $5,000 with ZERO balance due. She told me the money would be held in an escrow account and that she would send me a link to upload my files to a server in February. I told her I needed a more official looking receipt and a written contract on company letterhead defining the scope of the case, so she said she would send it to me on February 9th, but she never did. I never uploaded any files and Omni Investigation never performed any PI work because the prosecuting attorney offered me a plea deal several months later. I notified Ami in May 2023 that the PI case would not move forward and that I wanted my escrow money refunded. Ami has not refunded my $5,000 retainer despite numerous requests. She said she would mail me my refund check on October 17, 2023, but never did.
