Negative experience: I contacted a surveillance company and was quoted nearly $1,000 for 10 hours of surveillance and $1,700 for 20 hours. After reading reviews highlighting their sketchy practices, I'm glad I didn’t use their services. It would have been frustrating to spend that much money just to watch someone from outside their home, especially considering how overpriced I feel it was. 10/03/24 Update after the company’s response: Yes, I did contact your business. Whether or not I’m outside the area is irrelevant. Many people call companies outside their immediate location if they need services in that company’s area, and the fact that you felt the need to check that seems unnecessary. Just because I’m not a local resident doesn’t mean I can’t inquire about services or write a review. I called to ask about a service, and the prices you quoted were outrageously high for what I was requesting, which raised some red flags for me. That alone justifies leaving a review. If you’re attempting to discredit my review simply because I’m not in your area or trying to make it seem like my feedback is invalid, that comes across as unprofessional. Yes, I’m based outside your area, but that doesn’t change the fact that I contacted you about services in your region. If someone from California needs your services in Virginia, does that invalidate their inquiry or experience?

Negative experience: Very professional and courteous, but I'm leaving with as much information as I came to them with. I appreciate the timely response and customer service but I can't help but feel like I paid them almost 300 bucks for them to tell me the mysterious phone number I gave them is most likely untraceable, it is what it is I guess

Fantastic experience: I'm an attorney in San Diego and I needed some important documents served in Virginia Beach. I had first used a process server, and then hired an investigation firm. Over a month went by and they failed. I then hired East Coast Investigations and within a few days the person was served.

Negative experience: Updated after owners reply: DONT BELIEVE THE FAKE 5 STARS REVIEWS! I WISH I WOULD HAVE BELIEVED THE LOW STAR REVIEWS. I WAS TOTALLY ROBBED! The response from the owner shows the lack of integrity and professionalism. They are inexperienced and use out-of-date resources. I paid Nick Fortunato (Senior Investigator) with East Coast Investigations a 1500 hundred dollar retainer. The retainer was 1500 to cover 20 hours at 75 dollars an hour. I was only sent a email with old addresses and phone numbers of my family members and my aunts obituary (all public information) 1500 hundred dollars only to receive a email with all public information. No documents were provided to justify or support keeping the ENTIRE 1500 hundred dollar retainer. I only received public information, no extensive research or investigation was done. I am still left with no answers about my family, I desperately need and want. I sacrificed 1500 hundred dollars out of desperation to get answers. They my wasted time and toyed with my emotions.
Ms. Sheila. Ned You hired our agency to conduct a countermeasure sweep on your vehicle (we did that at our office, remember) we then sent an investigator to your apartment to conduct a countermeasure sweep looking for cameras and listening devices as you felt that you were being spied on. You were suspicious that you were being monitored and tracked. You hired us to do background research on a neighbor who moved out because you felt that they were spying on you and all you had was a first name. We uncovered the individual's full name and conducted full background on that person with nothing suspicious found. I'm uncertain as to why you would rewrite a review such as this but that is your business. We are happy to talk with you on the phone if you have further questions. Fantastic experience: One call and no answer, with in a minute I got a call back. I explained what I needed and we agreed on an action. We followed it out and was unable to recover my items. But East Coast didn’t give up. I was contacted a day later and East Coast was able to not only get my items but locate, talk to and confront the person who had my items. East Coast took the item and shipped it to me that day. I got my item perfectly intact and in a few days. From being lost at what to do, to having the situation resolved with out call the police. Negative experience: Scam Alert !!! These Gentlemen are absolutely scam. They charge money upfront and have a very strict NO REFUND policy. Even if they are unable to provide what you have asked for they will give you some kind of distantly related documents and finish the case. I had a hit and run case with a Virginia plated vehicle, since I am living in New York I needed help from ECI in recovering the vehicle information. Mr Nick sounded very confident about it and said he will be providing the vehicle insurance information within 2 business days. He charged me $450 for the case. He had never provided me the information instead he gave me some fake numbers to call the owners and then he stopped responding to my mails altogether. They are so unprofessional that they can't even recover their own state's vehicle insurance information after I had provided them with the name and plate number. Think twice before hiring them. They will say Yes to whatever you are asking for but success is not guaranteed !! Happy hunting Mr Nick !!

Negative experience: Biggest waste of money I have ever spent. I reached out to East Coast Investigations hoping to get answers to questions concerning the house next to ours. I was told they could get answers from the city and from finance companies that I couldn't get. All they did was run a few inquiries from data bases. They provided me with less information than what I had obtained by myself.

Negative experience: I am very disappointed with their service because i had my ex-husband investigated, however, they just took the money, & i kept following-up with them & they are'nt as attentive once $650 was payed to them & it was lead to nothing & they only got back to me when they are asking for more $. I chose them because they have good ratings unfortunately, its horrible. It was Jones who was in charge of my case. I had bad experience with them. I suggest to go elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I was involved in a hit and got run and got very little info from the vehicle except the license plate imprint on my car . The police came to make a report and said they couldn’t do anything to help . After contacting several investors nick was by far the cheapest and a lot more professional than some of the other people, I provided him the license plate number and within a couple hours he was sending me pictures and information of the car and driver that hit me to confirm it was the right person. Fantastic experience: Hired for a background check on a person and their family member so technically 2 were needed and my additional request was approved for no extra charges. When the background searches turned out to be an incorrect match due to the information I initially provided was incorrect, after I was able to find an additional piece of information and asked to rerun the checks, I got the results I needed. Negative experience: I got in an accident that was not my fault that was proven in court but the other driver is still asking for medical from my insurance. i went to ECI to cover myself, but the results for $1600 for 20 hours of investigation was dark photos no real positive identification of the person and excuses that he drives to fast. ECI is a complete waste of money

As you know, you stated this person claimed injury and we did observe him coming and going from the residence and doing other things that could be helpful in your case. As you know the testimony of the investigator is what holds up in court. The photo quality may not be the greatest but when the conditions are very dark and you're dealing with a trailer park it does make it a bit of a challenge. Fantastic experience: I had a very positive experience with this company. I rarely post reviews, but I felt compelled to in this case. Through one of the most painful times of my life, I turned to this company to help me gain some evidence to help me in court after being wronged by a person who I thought was my best friend. These guys got the evidence I needed in a professional manner, were sensitive to my need for confidentiality, and will be appearing in my upcoming court case. The price was competitive, they were attentive to my requests and patient through my questions, and they tried to use my retainer in the most cost-effective way by breaking up the time over several instances rather than burning through my time. Negative experience: The communication is horrible I haven't heard much since I hired them in October no result still, now it's past the middle of March don't waste your money because that's what you'll be doing, your better off doing your research yourself. So what your saying is if I show you my contract I signed with Jason your PI which I still have his cell number I would get a refund?

Negative experience: I hired them to find my ex. They took my money. I didn't hear from them for 5 months, and only after I contacted them asking about the investigation The information that they gave me was available online for 20 dollars. They made no significant attempt to complete the service that they were hired for. This was a horrible experience, and I would never recommend them to anyone.
