Negative experience: I’d like to create a review based off of actual experience but I unfortunately can’t get anyone on the line. I’ve tried to call several times at all different times of the day during their business hours. Leaving a message has not worked either. Oh well. EDIT: So not only do they not respond to you until you’ve resorted to posting a review on Google, they also send you emails accusing you of lying about ever calling. Get it together. Edit AGAIN: I’ve tried to block this person on my email, so he’s taken the harassment to this public forum. Below is a written out example of the harassment I’ve received all morning because I left a review about not being able to reach someone in their office. Not only do they need a new phone system, but apparently also someone more capable of handling public relations. If you do not wish to be harassed or receive false accusations, maybe try another company. Grow up gentleman.
Unfortunately, Ms. Harris is being untruthful. She spoke with our company yesterday. She called us twice in a span of 2 minutes but never left a voicemail. She claims she tried to reach us prior to yesterday, but having checked all records, it is clear that she is being disingenuous. There is no evidence that she ever tried to reach us prior to yesterday. She could have texted, emailed, chatted on our website, used the web submission page, sent a fax or left a voicemail if we could not answer her call right away. She did none of those things. We discussed this with her directly again today, and she replied with hostility. Fantastic experience: I received one of those letters and figured it was a scam, but figured i would pay for the stamp and send back the form. to he honest i completely forgot about it, again, thinking some time ago that it was a scam. Well, today, out of the blue i got my check for $616.147 after their fee (15%). I'm OK with that. BTW, I hadn't even spoken to anyone in the business. Although there was no real communication after i filed the forms with them, I'm guessing there really didn't need to be any. they said there were unclaimed funds owed to be, i filled out the paper, and today got my check. thumbs up.

Negative experience: Sent me a unwanted letter asking for my personal info like I'd give that up to someplace I don't know. Wondering how they got my address to begin with? As I'm a state witness under protection. And while we understand that some people might initially be apprehensive about supplying personal information, this is what the state requires to verify your identity and substantiate your claim. But don't take our word for it, a simple google search should alleviate this concern. You will also find that Fletcher has successfully recovered money for tens of thousands of clients since its inception in 2008. Our business model is simple: we reach out to owners of unclaimed funds and offer assistance in recovering those unclaimed moneys. If you received a letter from us it is because we believe you are entitled to recover unclaimed funds. Often times when people move out of state, it is common for unclaimed funds to be left behind and turned over to the State. Negative experience: Gave me the run around for over a year to retrieve my money from unclaimed funds of which they are taking 30 percent
This review is not credible, and unfortunately not based in fact. Fist, our fee is 15%; as directed by statute. The confusion likely stems from the fact that the 15% fee was equivalent to approximately $30. Second, the claimant hired Fletcher on February 6, 2019, and her money was successfully recovered on October 24, 2019. The likely source of confusion here lies with the fact that a claim was established by the claimant with the State and denied prior to the engagement of Fletcher's services. And this recovery required additional steps to substantiate an old address registered to the account, which is why the recovery took extra time. Additionally, State regulations changed in 2019, which have resulted in lengthier claim processing times for everyone; and this extended processing time was disclosed to the reviewer at the time of its discovery. We spoke to the reviewer this morning to try to clear up this confusion. It is not clear how we could been any more diligent or effective on this claim, but we take the concerns of our customers seriously.

Fantastic experience: Dad's estate was a tangled web of Finances that went on for years. Fletcher Asset Recovery contacted me on behalf of New York State to let me know that Dad had left me something I didn't know he did. They were very professional in helping me get this money as well as notifying me what to expect tax wise. The 15% recovery fee they charged I consider quite reasonable given I didn't even know the money was there. Everything was taken care of from beginning to end once I got them the proper paperwork. New York State should hire us to handle their unclaimed funds distribution! There wouldn't be $17.5 billion dollars sitting unclaimed in the Empire State (We think the actual liability is far greater because of accruals that are owed to successful claimants). The payment ratio wouldn't be so low; the failure rate of individual claimants wouldn't be so high, and New Yorkers would have more money in their pockets. Fantastic experience: They know what they're doing
Sometimes, we do in fact know what we are doing, especially when it comes to substantiating claims filed for unclaimed funds. The regulations imposed by the holders of the unclaimed money have made operating in our space increasingly difficult and there are very few companies left to help out folks that need it the most. Add in the negative narrative that the State puts out there to protect its billion dollar business, and people who buy into it or think everything is a scam; and its an uphill battle for sure. But its nice when we succeed, and we certainly appreciate the complimentary review.

And while we always try to respond thoughtfully to constructive criticism, it would appear that such reviews are without any basis in fact. Positive experience: Legit recovery company but more to be desired with responses. I was told that it’s “likely that check was split” by the comptroller and had no follow-ups after that. Received only one check and the assumption that it was ‘split’ is incorrect. So as the recovery company, I did assume they have more info on the process and can provide these details to the consumer. Negative experience: Dubious company with scamming qualities? It seems so!! After receiving a letter from this company claiming to "help me" recovering "assets" from the NY State Comprtoller's Office, I contacted them to find out what "assets" might belong to me (I am not aware of any debt any institution, government or commercial, would owe me). The unfriendly woman (not a lady!) at the phone was not willing or was unable to give me a detailed answer why they think I have "assets" unclaimed for. She insisted on the triple A customer ratings instead of giving me an information.Why would this company have knowledge of unclaimed funds and detailed contact information, such as complete name, address, landline AND cellphone numbers? Eventually, they want your SS# (very dangerous!!). There is no other explanation: this is JUST SCAM!

Positive experience: No need folks. Just go to the website link that Fletcher provides on the letter you received. Took me 5 minutes to complete and immediately got an auto response that they're working on it and I'll have my first update in 15 days. Don't pay these guys 15% of your money when it's so easy to do on your own. After reading Fletcher's response to my critique, I'll say this. If you're not particularly resourceful, computer savvy or have very little spare time, this may workout great for you and be well worth the 15%. I'm going to give it a shot on my own. If it doesn't work out, maybe I'll be back and singing a different tune. No offense Fletch In the meantime, I upped my 1 star to 3.
Thank you Adam, we are glad you were able to initiate your claim on your own after being provided with the details and location of the unclaimed funds by Fletcher. And even though you benefited from our company, you are not a customer and as such your service review would appear to be misplaced, and is a disservice to those in need of assistance. As it is about 50% of claims are denied, or rejected, and end up in failure due to a variety of reasons. Also, by filing online, and not with Fletcher, you now have limited your claim to only the account that you selected from the State's limited index. Unknown to most people, is the fact that the State's index only represents about 1/3 of unclaimed accounts available to be claimed in NY. When you work with Fletcher, our process aims to collect from the entire pool of accounts, not just the ones in the index. And while many claims are in fact relatively straight forward, most of our clients benefit not only from our initial research, but also the numerous obstacles claimants face. If it was so easy to do on your own, how it is possible that there is over $15 BILLION unclaimed in NY alone, and over $100 BILLION in the entire country; and that amount is growing by several billion annually (far greater than the rate at which it is returned). Unclaimed Funds is our expertise, and we have assisted tens or thousands of customers since our inception 2008.
Fantastic experience: I received a letter from Fletcher. They made a full disclosure as to my assets being with the NYS Comptroller. We filed a claim on our own and the state sent us a bunch of paperwork, so we just hired Fletcher instead and they too care of it. It was just easier that way. Thank you.

Thanks but no thanks - you can go straight to the NYS comptroller's website and just validate your information to freely claim your funds in less than ten seconds by just providing your social security number. They were available to me during the process any time I checked in with them on status. After a few months I was advised that they had a confirming response from the State and a refund was coming After a few weeks the State identified the exact amount and shortly thereafter I received a check from Fletcher less their 15% fee.
