Great Lakes Security

Positive experience: I applied for a Security Officer position a month ago and haven't heard anything back. I have 4 and a half years experience in many different venues, including Security Officer at The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. Looking forward to hearing something from somebody.

Negative experience: Sent messages still no response been waiting for my pay and no response and this is not the 1st time it has happened I've done my job why can't I get my pay

Negative experience: 0 stars if I could. On Belle Isle, there is three guard blocking the road to the Belle Isle Casino Parking Lot, since there was no sign or gates I biked through, but the guard in the middle and separate images, who didn't even have a uniform and wreaked of weed tried to block me on the bridge with his run down Cadillac, and tried to grab my bike when I was on the bike, and threaten physical violence, the bottom line is the Grand Prix was completely gone a week ago, and no streets are unauthorized, I believe these are a bunch off duty guards trying to cause trouble.

Negative experience: For some reason everytime I see them driving around they're too worried about their phones to be actually surveilling. DONT TEXT AND DRIVE!

Negative experience: Rude. Nasty. People. You have a flashlight not a badge. And from the looks of the long hair guys they have working for them they have no drug tests. Completely unprofessional company. Wouldnt recommend if they were the only option in area

Negative experience: I asked the security guard a simple question about where I could park. He was very rude to me. I didn’t even reply to him and he kept doing on about how I couldn’t park where I was even when I was just asking a simple yes or no question. If he had told me no I would’ve moved and respected his response but he was very rude questioning me about if I had the authority to park there. It was very unnecessary and disrespectful. I’m VERY unsatisfied with my encounter with him. I never did anything to deserve such disrespect and I wasn’t asking for it either—just simply where I could park. If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. No one should have such unfriendly employees working for them. (This was in East Lansing, MI)

Negative experience: This company blocked the entrance to the parking lot of my business while directing traffic. My landlord asked their employee, John Quinn, if he would move his vehicle so my clients could access the parking lot. The employee then gave my business a bad review. My landlord called Travis, at Great Lakes to remove the review from my business. The employee, John Quinn, then removed the review. However, he had his signifcant other, Candra Suliman, leave my business a one star review and John left a five star. So again, my landlord call Great Lakes to remove both reviews. Travis, at Great Lakes replied with “this is a civil matter” and hung up the phone. What am I suppose to do, I lost business that day and my business is being attacked because two people had a lack of understanding?

Fantastic experience: Great Lakes Security is about as real a deal as it gets as far as security goes. I’ve dealt with a few other security guard agencies in my past, and while they all put up a great front with excellently worded mission statements, and impressive marketing tactics, GLS seems to be a cut above the rest in that they actually deliver on what they promise. I believe that the guards care about their work, and have the customer’s best interest at heart. Keep up the great work, fellas!

Negative experience: THIS IS THE 'ANN ARBOR AREA' NEVER CALL YOU BACK I'VE CALLED EVEN IN SUMMER I CAN SEE AND HEAR WHATS GOIN ON THEY DONT CALL AND IVE WATCHED THEM DRIVE RIGHT BY..?, I'VE HAD A MULTIPLE STROKE 4YRS AGO AND MY DAUGHTER AN I PARKED IN THE HANDICAPPED SPOT AND WATCHED THEM PUT A BIG BLUE STICKER ON WINDOW ALMOST STUCK BECAUSE THE SNOW... MEAN WHILE OUR HANDICAP WAS RIGHT THERE ON DASH YOU CAN SEE IT I LAY IT CAUSE IT WONT HAND IT FALLS... THEY I HAVE TO SAY DONT MAKE ME FEEL SAFE AT ALL MY KIDS HAVE SEEN THEM PARKED CHILLING MORE TIMES THEN I WANT TO HERE....I CANT WAIT TO MOVE AN WILL MAKE SURE I NO WHO THE SECURITY PEOPLE ARE 1ST... IT'S SAD AND TERRIBLE AND I WONT CHANGE MY MIND...
