Negative experience: My experience wasn't so good. My step mother said she hired this guy for me. On the phone he had zero sympathy for me when im dealing with serious malignant narcissistic abuse from my entire family. My step mother wouldn't allow me to speak with him directly so I got absolutely no results. I'm dealing with the same problems with being violated and people entering my house. Am I the only one who had an awful experience? Maybe.

Negative experience: I came to Whitlock in January 2024 about a case from 2013 that another of my family members had started with him at that time. I initially asked him just to retrieve the file, and he told me that he could have it by Friday (this was a Wednesday). After speaking with him on another call, we decided to reopen the case and investigate some other things. I paid him the $2500 retainer and told him to let me know when he found something. He continually told me that he “had to get his hands on the file” that he had started back in 2013. I understand needing time to refresh your memory on a cold case, but I was told this same line for MONTHS on end and never received communication unless I repeatedly texted and called. He obviously had not done anything since he kept telling me he needed to find his own file to get started. This continued through February, March, April, May, June… with no communication whatsoever unless I repeatedly called and texted. He would tell me he would call, and he wouldn’t. We would set up a time for me to call him, and he wouldn’t answer or would tell me to call him HOURS later to tell me essentially nothing. Obviously this was not a priority to him because he always told me he was working on another case. On June 24, 2024, he told me he would try to get into the case another way, but after being told this multiple times, I told him to send me my retainer back. He said he would send it less his time. What time? He never initiated contact, located his own file, or produced the police file I was looking for. I am now 7 months later with nothing to show. On June 24th, he told me he was sending the check the next day. Now, July 29th, I am still waiting for the check to arrive. He is undependable at best and ineffective at worst. If he was unable to get that file, I should have been told that in an appropriate amount of time rather than being dragged on as an “unimportant” case for 7 months. Would not recommend to anyone I know.
