Negative experience: These guys are animals when it comes to towing people's cars away.

Negative experience: One of your security was so close to the back of my car all of Todd street I actually thought it was a cop. Speed limit in todd road Santa rosa id 30-35 i believe. This guy was so impatient that he sped and drove on the opposite side of the road, WHEN A CAR WAS ON THE LANE. Car had to hit the breaks and your SECURIY drivers swerved onto the lane. NEARLY CAUSED A CAR CRASH. terrible f drivers and security. do better.

Negative experience: Horribly unprofessional people. Hung up one when asked basic questions about procedure for tagging vehicles. Vehicle was vandalized with stickers placed incorrectly on them, when asked for them to be removed I was told they will not do that and hung-up on.

Fantastic experience: I was a regular at Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael where Barbier had the contract to provide security services. The Barbier agents served a sometimes difficult clientele, Deadheads, with total professionalism and friendliness. As front line representatives of Phi Lesh and family they served the venue and client base extremely well. I'd hire them in a second if I needed security services.

Negative experience: very unprofessional, Security guard has NO social skills obviously, very rude . I was walking home and he watched me walk down the hall, and rudely Shooed me to my house telling me to go home in a angry tone saying that if I don’t go he’ll call the cops because he doesn’t even think I live there, so I can’t stand next to my door now with our being harassed by one of there “officers” and the got very rude and unprofessional saying that we pay him to be here that our rent money goes to him. AGAIN very unprofessional, He threatened to call the cops we waited for them to come but he left. Absolutely no reason for Him to be demanding, and asking me questions about what unit I’m in.

Negative experience: The "security guards" hired by Barbier are at best unprofessional and poorly trained, at worst they present themselves as rogue law enforcement. Shopping malls such as the Corte Madera Center should think twice before hiring . My problem started with one of their "guards" blocking in my car. It devolved from there with a barrage of bad attitudes and threats from Barbier. The public should know that these private "guards" have NO more power to detain and conduct law enforcement than any other private citizen. Yes, getting qualified help is a problem in this economy but having "guards" that attempt to intimidate customers is bad for anybody who hires such individuals. Anybody considering hiring a private security firm should really double down on scrutinizing who they will choose to represent their business. If they present with a belligerent, wanna-be-a -cop attitude don't hire them, unless you like losing customers.

Fantastic experience: Can’t speak more highly of Barbier Security Group! Our elementary school tried a new event this year and had over 300 people attend at a public park. We wanted to make sure that students and families felt safe and that there was a professional safety presence. Our PTA contacted Barbier Security. They verified our needs and purpose of security. The Security Agent who showed up constantly communicated with the PTA president and school principal. He was friendly, yet serious and professional. Families felt respected and safe - exactly the mood we wanted to create! We will definitely be using Barbier Security Group again.

Negative experience: I called these people to look into hiring them for a concert I had been told don't waste your time with them they have terrible customer service. I called them anyway talk to someone who said they would get back to me after 5 calls to them still no return calls. They don't even pretend to be professional. I'm over it.

Fantastic experience: The young man at the San Rafael Transit Center is always super helpful he tries to handle every situation professionally and is very calm and understanding with the patrons who ride.I feel very safe when he is around thank god for great people.I have been seeing a lot of negative reviews here but this is my first security guard I have encountered while riding the bus for years who is nice and thank you

Negative experience: They drive around, NOT respecting the right of way. Especially in the Canal area. Multiple times I've seen them "California roll" on a 4 way stop intersection and almost hit drivers (that have the right of way). Just because you drive a "security " vehicle does NOT mean you're entitled. Respect the rules of driving ok?

Negative experience: Employee of Barbier Security laughed when my boyfriend was talking to the tow company who towed his vehicle. He was expressing how financially this was difficult because of the covid crisis and people not having jobs right now. He had his car parked out front of our apartment complex for 35 minutes. He has gout and it is difficult for him to walk back from the mile away parking spaces available down the street from the complex. I was going to give him a ride but wanted to finish what I was doing first. When we walked back out the vehicle was gone. It costed $470 to tow the vehicle and they only had it in their possession for 23 minutes. Yes- 23 minutes they had the car and wanted $470, cash only. The Barbier Security employee made snide comments back and laughed when told it wasn't funny. People have lost their jobs- not all small businesses got approved for financial compensation for their non essential services. You should be ashamed as a whole company for having employees that exhibit this kind of behavior and entitledness. Would not recommend.

Fantastic experience: Interacted with this company multiple times around Marin County and have always had great experiences. They are professional and always helpful. I appreciate having a company like this around the county!

Negative experience: Very inconsistent, hardly reliable. Called multiple times to complain about none permitted guest parking in "permit only" parking. Reply " sir, we patrol a large area" and " we do our patrols early in the morning". All excuses that I expect from an incompetent company. I've them do their patrols at 5 am when I leave for work and not once have I seen the security guard get our of the vehicle. Don't hire this company for your security needs because they will not meet your needs

Negative experience: This company really disappointed me. We had an issue with a homeless camp and homeless people breaking open a security gate. The neighbors said they saw they were armed on video. The only thing the ex-cop owner had to say about the incredibly disturbing and ongoing problem involving our shared property was that it wasn't their responsibility. Because the homeless people weren't there at the time even though there clearly was a homestead 45 feet from my parking spot. It was all about how technically they have to do nothing. Now granted people smoke pot, drink and party all the time near this spot and never have I seen a single security guard come by. The security company takes our money and tries to tow our cars but I see no other benefit. They think they are our adversary not their entire source of income. The attitude of the owner was so unacceptably rude and combative that it's impossible to say anything good about this 'security' company. And on top of that the security is non-existent. I hope the owners understand what security is.

Negative experience: Overzealous, harassed me for no reason on my way home! Told the man to stop asking me questions that weren't his business and leave me alone, but he continued following me asking questions! Very unprofessional! CalCal office and was treated unprofessionally; instead io addressing the issue, was again asked questions that were none of their business, tried to turn the tables on me like I was the bad guy here by not answering their questions instead of addressing the issue of their guy harrassing the public who were doing nothing more than walking home! Definitely coukd set up a client to apotential Civic suit! Beware! And notice their rude responses to a bad review!

Fantastic experience: I've used Barbier Security for the past 3 years now. They've helped us each year with our "Grad Night Lock In" party for the Urban School. They are simply the best. They are no-nonsense (checking bags and students for hidden contraband) but completely respectful and as non-invasive as possible. We've had Carla and Evan all 3 years, and they totally understand the event and how being too overbearing can sour a mood, but supplying the necessary enforcement to keep the evening running smoothly and safely. Alexa, in the office, was easy to deal with, and answered all our questions/concerns in an efficient and timely manner. I highly recommend them for this type of service.

Negative experience: Worst ever customer service. They think they are the local cops. I will do everything I can to avoid using their services.

Negative experience: I haven't used their services - but I can tell you that one of their drivers nearly ran me off the 101-N freeway yesterday. Even though I used my horn early and long, they continued to move into my lane and would have pushed me right into the guardrail if I hadn't executed an emergency braking maneuver.

Fantastic experience: I hired Barbier Security Group for an exclusive luxury event on Friday evening and I cannot express how incredible the service was from start to finish. The booking process was a pleasure and my guard, Evan, was the epitome of professionalism. He arrived early for duty, offered to help throughout the evening on duties outside of his realm of responsibility, and he made my team and I feel safe and secure the entire night. I plan events all the time that require security and I will always use Barbier when I am in the Bay Area (and as far as they will come!). Working with Barbier and Evan was absolutely outstanding! You will not regret hiring this Company.

Fantastic experience: I've had numerous interactions with the patrol staff of Barbier Security Group, and they have always been courteous, professional and genuinely invested in the peace and safety of the communities they serve. As a public health professional, I appreciate their regard for the dignity of marginalized populations, and have witnessed several instances where tense situations were diffused with equanimity and compassion.

Fantastic experience: Twice now I have utilized Barbier Security Group, both times for different purposes. I have been nothing but impressed by the professionalism and obvious experience of Mr. Barbier and his team. It was a bit daunting, suddenly finding myself in need of security for the first time, but Mr. Barbier talked me through it and in the end I felt much better about both my family's safety and the safety of my property. The first time I used BSG, it was to provide a bit of calm in the office when we had to let go an employee who had made some threats. I had been referred to BSG by a friend of mine who uses them to manage security for his commercial properties, and I was incredibly impressed with not only how professional and helpful they were, but also how respectful they were to my now former employee. Having them there made a potentially volatile situation a lot calmer and a lot more manageable. When I had BSG out the second time, it was to install cameras and have a security assessment done of my home. Mr. Barbier came himself, talked me through the process, and gave me tips on the best way to stay safe. I would absolutely recommend Barbier Security Group to anyone, and have done so repeatedly in the past.

Negative experience: Complaint filed with the Dixie School District superintendent's office. They assured me that this would be followed up with. I am appalled at the racial profiling by one of your security guards last night as I walked my dogs last night. Been a home owner and resident for 12 years here; have never had an issue at the school; neither have any of my fellow dog walkers. I hope that the school district will sort out the details with this company. I will be talking to the Homeowners Association as well. This is potentially a big problem for school relations and the community if this company continues to patrol this school. The lack of professionalism will offend and threaten the harmony we love and aim to have in our community here.
