Fantastic experience: I'm a freelance journalist who needed a process server to initiate a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit pro se against a Michigan government body. Because serving a public body is a similar, but slightly different, process than serving an individual, I needed a company that understood and adhered to the proper service of process for a government entity so my case wouldn't be thrown out on a technicality. As simple as that probably sounds, it was surprisingly difficult to find a company that understood the differences and would adhere to the correct procedures for proper service of process on a public body. Negative experience: They were very poor with communication throughout the process and charged us more than what they put on the proof of service so we could not get awarded the full amount of their service.
