Fantastic experience: I recently had an emergency situation and was in desperate need of finding my adult son as quickly as possible. He was unmedicated and lost in the streets of San Francisco. Time was of the essence because without his medication he gets confused and lost and his well being was in danger. I called Jason and left a message. It was kinda late at night but he returned my call within the hour. He quickly told me what I needed to do and the next morning he was working on my case. Jason is very professional, kind, thorough and honest. Luckily my son got in touch with me three days after I hired Jason. During that time period Jason did everything within his power to help find him. I would highly recommend him to anyone. Thank you for your help and encouragement Jason!

Fantastic experience: Private is the key word in “private investigator.” People seek out private investigators because they’re dealing with matters that are private. My husband and I had such a situation. I called my attorney and then filed my first police report. As I did so, I realized the police weren’t going to do anything. They specialize in bodies after they’re dead. That’s what we wanted to prevent. What to do? Thinking at warp speed, I came up with, “What about a private investigator?” Friends have used them, mostly to catch cheating spouses, but with good results. Ever the professional, I called my lawyer for a reference to make sure I got a good one. Did he know someone reputable who did investigative work? Turned out he did. I called her and waited. Waiting is awful in such a situation. Desperate, I went on line. I usually use Yelp to get house painters and plumbers. I finally hit an entry, Dewitt Detective Agency, with very good reviews. I carefully read the page, then the attached website. There was a contact form to fill out. I did and went on searching. Seemed like seconds when I got a return email, “That seems very urgent.” You betcha. I answered Jason and we began a process that seemed cut from a thriller on TV. I consider the money we spent with Jason the best and most productive we’ve spent. He knew how to do everything. He created and distributed targeted flyers before I’d be able to throw one together. The next morning, he called with the whereabouts of our target. That was a huge relief. He knew exactly where to search. The adventure continued after this, and Jason led us all the way. The man is not just competent, he’s very nice and reassuring, which is good when you’re falling apart every ten minutes. He’s very level headed and pragmatic, cutting through foolish ideas and getting to the core. We’re still processing this problem and I’d call Jason back for more help in a minute. It was a great experience, if a stomach churning adventure can be called great. Oh, the investigator my attorney recommended called me back after Jason had found our target. He’s fast, as well as effective.

Negative experience: I called Jason to see how much it would cost to gather evidence out of my home. I was lied about by the police department and no investigation was done. He said he would call his contacts in Marin and get back to me. Two hours later the San Rafael police were at my door. They were extremely hostile. They said that someone called saying I was incoherent and wanted to make sure I was ok. They sure seemed angry for coming to “help”.

Fantastic experience: My 11 year old granddaughter was taken from our home by a troubled family member. We had no idea were she was…or if she was safe. Fantastic experience: I don't typically do reviews on line. Choosing a private detective is a difficult thing to do. When our daughter went missing we were desperate to do anything but wait. The police were doing everything they could but it just wasnt fast enough. I did plenty of research on how to hire the right detective. There was plenty to watch out for. Lets face it, when hiring anyone, you just don't know until it's too late in some cases. Our Daghter was missing for 4 days when we decided to call Jason Dewitt. He found our daughter safe and unharmed. We were told by the police that many times if a missing girl isn't found the first week, it is never a happy ending. Jason was easily worth twice the fees he charged to bring our daughter home safely. If you ever need a detective for any reason. Jason Dewitt is the real deal! His experience is why this was a succes story. His compation for us and our family was real. We will forever be greatful and fortunate to have found Jason when we did. I cant thank him enough for our experience. The daily progress and interaction was the key to us keeping our sanity through the hardest time of our lives.
