Fantastic experience: David Notowitz, founder and Director of NCAVF, presented an engaging and informative program on audio and video forensics at a recent member meeting of the Audio Engineering Society, Los Angeles at One on One Studios in Burbank, California. David combined his years of experience in the field, technical expertise and a warm, approachable speaking style to give our group an inside look at the techniques, technologies and demands of the craft. Using vivid audio and video examples, David walked the group through case studies, demonstrating the keen judgment required to prepare evidence for use in the courtroom. A lively Q&A session followed in which he engaged numerous attendees in one-on-one conversations sharing details of his many cases. Fantastic experience: I don't often write reviews, but in the case of David Notowitz and NCAVF, I'm glad to make an exception due to their long track record of excellent and reasonably priced services. As an attorney, I and my clients have benefited substantially by engaging NCAVF. Most notably, I represented a female pedestrian who had a nasty encounter with a Mercedes. The first problem was to get relevant evidence, which we solved by obtaining a video recording of the incident. The second problem was much tougher – to establish that the poorly defined video had captured the actual collision and that it supported our position. What seemed like an insoluble problem to me was solved by Mr. Notowitz working his "magic" to clean up the video, sharpen its subject matter, and perform other feats to enable my client to settle the lawsuit for a significant amount. Without this evidence, my client could not have proven her case. I have personal knowledge of Mr. Notowitz's important contributions as an expert testifying in court. In addition, he teaches excellent seminars to attorneys. In a class about using video expert testimony in court that I attended, I was able to put into immediate practice some of his tips. NCAVF's quick responses to my inquiries is impressive, as is Mr. Notowitz's reputation for honesty, forthrightness, and integrity. Everyone I know who has retained NCAVF has been more than satisfied; that's why I confidently refer clients and friends to them.

Fantastic experience: I have been a criminal defense attorney for almost 35 years and I have handled numerous complex homicide cases. Recently, I represented a defendant in a very complex murder case that ultimately involved a trial and re-trial. The case a had several hours of video and audio recordings as evidence. As it turned out, most of those recordings were exculpatory evidence and it was very important to present that evidence to the jury in the highest quality possible. David and his team at NCAVF were incredibly diligent in not only enhancing the quality of the audio and video recordings, but also carefully created separate audio and video clips that were especially useful in trial. This work required hours of careful listening and editing and David and his team handled it perfectly. David met with me and my team in person repeatedly to make sure the recorded clips were exactly what I wanted. David and his team also prepared a series of crime scene diagrams that were incredibly useful in trial.
