Kidwell Investigations

Fantastic experience: Jan Kidwell/Kidwell Investigations has been pivotal in my experience, not only did he find the truths behind the “truths” and the actual facts, he also lead the investigation with true compassion and heart. In my experience he uncovered a secret that helped a close child in my life had been struggling with, and by doing so, helped them start their recovery process regarding it. Without Jan, this kid may have struggled/suffered with the pain of their secret for the rest of their life, and even though that kids secret wasn’t necessarily helpful in the case he was working on (from my understanding anyway), it was part of the information this child needed to get out to start healing their own pain. To say that I’m grateful doesn’t do any justice to my feelings. Without Jan Kidwell, I don’t know that we ever would have known to help this kiddo with what they were dealing with. Not only did Jan himself personally keep in touch with us, he reached regarding the case, he checked in to see how we were doing, because he genuinely cares. Jan Kidwell is the best of the best and while I say he is a sweet compassionate man, he’s also one you don’t want to mess with!! Thank you, Jan!!

Fantastic experience: Jan literally saved my life! I was adopted and never planned to search out my biological family until my youngest daughter became sick with cancer. I had no family medical history. Anyone familiar with cancer knows family history is a huge help! Our daughter oncologist at the University of Iowa wanted to have us get this information to help in our daughters future treatment. I contacted Jan Kidwell and he was so happy to take the case! He knew what questions and information to request from Lutheran social services in a closed adoption. From there he took little pieces of info- I literally had nothing before other than my place of birth and birthdate- and we found the bio mother. It turned out they had the cancer gene in their family and I was immediately tested. It turned out I did too. This literally saved my life and changes the course for my daughters future as well as mine! I could not rate this Investagator any higher!!!! Thanks Jan!!!!!

Fantastic experience: I became curious about an over 50 year family mystery which might have occurred in the Iowa City vicinity. I'd never contacted a private investigator before so I "googled" for one.The response listed many "local" but in fact national firms. I wanted a qualified professional, not a check off the box cursory effort from afar, so I contacted Jan Kidwell. Based on my experience, the adjectives which should be used to describe Jan are - diligent, ethical, sensitive, persistent, humorous, and extremely competent. I could not have been more pleased with the result of this difficult investigation.

Fantastic experience: In 1985 I was accused and investigated for murder. Clemons Erdahl was my attorney and Bill Kidwell was my investigator. Nothing ever came of the investigation and it went cold. In 2016 the case was reopened after 30 year and they still had no evidence, but they put me in jail anyway and lied to the paper saying I confessed in an attempt to railroad me into jail. In the mean time Bill Kidwell passed and Jan Kidwell took over the investigation. Jan Kidwell found more evidence on the case on my behalf in 6 months then the DCI found in 30 years of investigation. While I was being accused of murder Jan Kidwell in essence solved the case on my behalf while the DCI was in denial and the case never went to trial. If it wasn’t for Jan Kidwell I would still be in jail. He stuck with this and never gave up.
